I cried when I first moved to Lake Tahoe. It was the fifth grade at Sleepy Hollow school in Orinda, California when my parents first told me the family was moving to Lake Tahoe. I was afraid my whole world was going to change. That was in 1957...

I was right, my whole world did change. Shortly after moving here for good, I knew I would never live anywhere else. Don't get me wrong, I love to travel to see the world and all the different cultures that make up this ever shrinking planet. But, no matter where I've gone, skiing in Europe, sailing in hte Caribbean or climbing Mt. Kilimnajaro in Africa, it's always a thrill to return home to Tahoe!

We are so fortunate to enjoy the best of everything. Foour season chock full of outdoor activities. Friendly people in a small town setting. Fresh air. A crystal clear lake. World class snow sports, and, again, clean fresh air. The delightfull city of San Francisco is only three hours away.

A first or second home investment in this area is as good as gold and will probably yield a much higher rate of return. Squaw Valley is my particular area of expertise, specifically in the large, beautifully designed and constructed mountain homes. My "day job" is designing and developing large view homes in a style indigenous to our area. At any one time we will have three or four projects at some stage of development.

My father was a building contractor so our family lived and breathed Tahoe home construction. On the weekends that we didn't have a ski race, we were looking at houses! After a youth spent ski racing I turned to sailboat racing for that required adrenaline rush. It is funny how learned habits persist. Even today I'll find myself doing a sailboat race in a place such as Lago di Garda and will spend my free time looking at old Italian villas and mountain homes.

I have been working with Tahoe Riverfront Realty for 25 years, first as a client and later a s licensed realtor. Now I look forward to serving all of our clients with the accumulated knowledge of 45 years in the area.
